Caumsett is a New York State Historic Park located on the north shore of Suffolk County.
The entire estate has been preserved and consists of the Mansion…
the Winter Cottage…
the Dairy complex….
the Polo Stables…
and the Walled Garden….
The estate was built for Marshall Field III in the early 1920′s by the architect John Russell Pope. I was there to visit the beautiful Designer’s Show House (October 2010) in the Winter Cottage (to benefit the Caumsett Foundation) and to enjoy the grounds.

Thanks so much.
The dairy complex looks fantastic from the outside… and well preserved. What does it look like inside?
I could only peek inside. See my Flickr site above. There is one photo of the interior there.
This mansion is a great one. it really look one of the castles in the the illustrations of zenda. i have only seen such mansions in classics only. especially the statue infront of the winter cottage. The diary farm and diary complex is so photogenic and really marvellous one.
